| Each spring for the past 24 years,
friends and foes of California’s top elected officials from both
parties have gathered to pay respect--in their own special way--to
that year’s Roastee. The humorous and sometimes edgy crossfire
among panelists and the Roastee provides timely insights about participants,
and the history and future of California politics. Several hundred
State Capitol "insiders" attend each year, including elected
officials from both parties and their staff, lobbyists and their employers,
political consultants and campaign managers, commissioners and political
appointees, candidates for state and local offices and many more.
